PM Oli appoints Bartoula Chief Whip of ruling coalition



KATHMANDU: Mahesh Bartaula, a Member of Parliament from the CPN-UML, has been appointed as the Chief Whip of the ruling coalition.

Prime Minister and CPN-UML Parliamentary Party Leader KP Oli nominated Bartaula for the position on Wednesday.

According to the CPN-UML Parliamentary Party’s statute of 2077 and the regulations for the remuneration and facilities of federal parliamentary officials and members, Bartaula’s appointment as Chief Whip in the House of Representatives is effective from July 17.

The Chief Whip is appointed by the ruling coalition and leads the Chief Whips from the ruling parties within the parliamentary system.

Bartaula has previously served as the Whip and Chief Whip of the UML.

He was elected MP from Makwanpur-2.
