Heavy rainfall expected in Bagmati and Gandaki provinces



KATHMANDU: The Weather Forecasting Division of the Department of Hydrology and Meteorology has projected the likelihood of heavy rainfall in isolated areas of Bagmati and Gandaki provinces.

In a bulletin, meteorologist Govinda Jha warned of increased landslide risks due to potential heavy rainfall.

“The influence of monsoon winds and a low-pressure system indicates the possibility of scattered light to moderate rain accompanied by thunder and lightning in parts of Bagmati, Gandaki, Karnali, and Sudurpaschim provinces, with isolated occurrences in other regions,” the bulletin stated.

Furthermore, the bulletin has predicted heavy rainfall in specific areas of Bagmati, Gandaki, Karnali, and Sudurpaschim provinces.

By Wednesday afternoon, the weather across the country is expected to be partly to mostly cloudy, with intermittent light to moderate rainfall and the possibility of thunder and lightning in Koshi, Bagmati, Gandaki, Karnali, and other regions.

Specifically, heavy rainfall may occur in isolated spots of Gandaki and Karnali provinces.
