NC demands immediate resolution to petroleum supply halt

KATHMANDU: The main opposition party, Nepali Congress (NC), has urged the government to address the ongoing protests disrupting the supply of petroleum products.

The party stated that the interruption in services infringes upon the fundamental rights of consumers.

In a press release issued on Monday, the NC’s Supplies and Consumer Department highlighted that the halt in petroleum products has led to shortages, causing unnecessary panic among consumers.

Department chief Guru Baral called on the government to promptly engage in talks with stakeholders to resolve the issue.

“Such shortages disrupt the smooth supply of daily goods and directly affect common people. Therefore, this situation must be resolved swiftly,” Baral emphasized.
