KATHMANDU: In a bid to break the ongoing deadlock in Parliament, Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal Prachanda has extended an invitation to the main opposition, Nepali Congress, for discussions.

The move comes as the Nepali Congress has continued its protest in the Parliament, seeking resolution through dialogue.

A Nepali Congress leader said that Prime Minister Dahal has called them to Baluwatar, PM’s official residence, for a meeting this evening.

Nepali Congress Chief Whip Ramesh Lekhak further affirmed the invitation, stating, “I have been informed about the Prime Minister’s call for discussion.”

Previously, during a joint meeting of opposition parties convened by the Nepali Congress, it was unanimously decided to propose the formation of a parliamentary committee to investigate Home Minister Rabi Lamichhane’s alleged involvement in a cooperative fraud case.
