Unified Socialist decides to nominate Dirgha Bahadur Sodari as Sudurpaschim Chief Minister

DHANGADHI: The CPN-Unified Socialist has decided to nominate Sudurpaschim Province’s parliamentary leader, Dirgha Bahadur Sodari, for the position of Chief Minister.

In a meeting convened on Wednesday at the party’s central office in Alok Nagar, it was decided to establish a government under the leadership of Sodari.

Following a crisis within the ruling coalition, Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’ consented to designate Unified Socialist as the Chief Minister of Sudurpaschim.

Consequently, Unified Socialist geared up to propose Sodari as the Chief Ministerial candidate early on Wednesday morning.

However, with no directive forthcoming from the central leadership, CPN-UML leaders abstained from attending the morning meeting.

Leaders from the ruling coalition have indicated that UML leaders were not in favor of appointing Sodari as the Chief Minister.
