Police reveal suspect in Tare Bhir murder case

Love proposal rejection suspected as motive for murder



KATHMANDU: Authorities have disclosed the suspect involved in the Tare Bhir murder case.

Susma Lama, an 18-year-old grade 12 student, was found buried after being murdered in Tare Bhir of Shivapuri National Park on March 8.

The accused, identified as a resident of Gokarneshwor Municipality-2, has been apprehended by the Valley Crime Investigation Office.

Rupendra Lama, aged 21, was arrested on Friday night in connection with Susma Lama’s murder.

Preliminary investigations suggest that the tragic incident occurred due to the rejection of a love proposal, according to the police.

The victim was a student at Budhanilkantha Secondary School.

It has been discovered that the accused, Rupendra, had been tracking Susma’s movements on her way to school for eight days before committing the murder.

According to police reports, Rupendra is suspected to have murdered Susma on February 5 while she was en route to school.

The post-mortem report indicates that Susma was choked to death. Following the murder, Rupendra buried Susma’s body.
