Pokhara declared as Nepal’s official ‘Tourism Capital’



KATHMANDU: In a landmark declaration, Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’ formally recognized Pokhara as the official ‘Tourism Capital’ of Nepal during an event held in Pokhara on Sunday.

The announcement ceremony, orchestrated by the Gandaki Province government and Pokhara Metropolitan City, saw a vibrant rally featuring diverse cultural processions, originating from Basundhara Park before the proclamation.

The significant announcement took place at the picturesque bank of Fewa Lake, Barahighat, adding to the scenic charm of the moment.

Earlier, the decision to bestow Pokhara with the esteemed title of ‘Tourism Capital’ was unanimously endorsed during a Cabinet meeting.
