Elderly man killed in wild animal attack



BANKE: Tragedy struck in Banke as a wild animal attack claimed the life of 71-year-old Nagendra Prasad Sharma, a resident of Darma rural municipality -1, Salyan district.

Sharma, who was residing with relatives in Kohalpur and Dhakeri of Banke district, fell victim to the wild animal’s assault near the road at Bhalukhola, located two kilometers west of Dhakeri on the East-West highway, stated Manoj Kumar Shah, the senior conservation officer of Banke National Park.

According to Police Inspector Devraj Bhattarai from the Area Police Office Kohalpur, it is believed that Sharma was attacked by the wild animal around 5:30 am today.

The body has been transported to Bheri Hospital in Nepalgunj for a post-mortem examination.
