ILAM: The Ilam District Court has levied fines of Rs. 50,000 each against two individuals for providing false information to obtain citizenship certificates.

Judge Keshav Prasad Ghimire, presiding over the bench, announced the penalties for Bhuvan Singh Gajmer, aged 50, and Chetan Gajmer, aged 22, both residents of Suryodaya Municipality-5.

Bhuvan Singh had misrepresented Chetan as his son, leading to the issuance of false information.

However, locals Leela Bishwakarma, Shir Bahadur Kami, Kumari Tamang, Lalita Bishwakarma, and Chandra Bahadur Ghale, who had attested to Chetan’s relationship with Bhuvan Singh based on the birth certificate, have been acquitted by the court.
