LUMBINI: Minister for Finance Bishnu Prasad Paudel has said the government is centered on promoting political stability along with policy stability.

Speaking at the 71st AGM of the Butwal Chamber of Commerce and Industry today, the Minister said the citizens’ hope for stability has been revived with the formation of the incumbent coalition government.

He also added that the collaboration between two major political parties: the Nepali Congress and the CPN (UML) will continue to its full term.

He sought an investment in the industrial sector confidently, adding the government is making efforts to clear off economic adversities.

“This is the time for optimism,” he said. He took time to say that a project to develop the Motipur Industrial Zone in Butwal is marred by political stability.

However, the project has not been terminated but delayed. Federation of Nepalese Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FNCCI) President Chandra Prasad Dhakal complained that an atmosphere for investment with confidence has been lacking in the country in the absence of policy stability.

Butwal metropolis mayor Khelraj Pandey said the local government has been cooperating with the private sector for the development of the town.
