Weather to remain partly to mostly cloudy today

KATHMANDU: The monsoon trough is currently positioned north of its usual place.

In addition to the widespread monsoon air across the country, there is a partial influence of the low-pressure system affecting India’s West Bengal and nearby areas.

This pattern is expected to continue throughout the afternoon.

The weather is expected to be partly to mostly cloudy this afternoon, with the possibility of light to moderate rain accompanied by thunder and lightning in some areas of Koshi, Bagmati, Lumbini, and Karnali provinces, as well as a few locations in other provinces.

There is also a chance of heavy rain this afternoon in isolated areas of Koshi, Bagmati, Gandaki, Lumbini, and Karnali provinces.

The Division has also warned of potential windstorms in certain areas of the Terai and Madhesh provinces of Koshi.

Tonight, the weather is likely to remain partly to mostly cloudy across the country.
