KATHMANDU: Deputy Secretary of State for Management and Resources Richard R. Verma is arriving in Nepal today and will travel to India from August 17-22.

This visit aims to advance and support a prosperous, secure, and resilient future for both countries.

In Nepal, Deputy Secretary Verma will lead a delegation to engage with senior government officials, development professionals, and business leaders.

The discussions will focus on shared priorities including economic development, women’s empowerment, energy, and people-to-people ties.

Following the visit to Nepal, Deputy Secretary Verma will travel to New Delhi, India, to meet with senior government officials, climate leaders, and representatives from the aerospace industry and academia.

The goal is to strengthen the U.S.-Indian partnership across a range of issues, including economic development, clean energy and climate action, and STEM education.

He will be joined in India by Senior Advisor to the President for International Climate Policy John Podesta and Deputy Secretary of the U.S. Department of Energy David Turk, according to the US Embassy in Kathmandu.
