Singer Rabi Oad acquitted in marital rape case



KATHMANDU: Singer Rabi Oad has been acquitted in a marital rape case.

The Kanchanpur District Court granted a clean chit to Oad in the case filed by his wife.

A bench of Justice Chanakmani Aryal passed the verdict, acquitting Oad.

The complaint was lodged by Oad’s wife on April 2 at the Area Police Office in Jalhari.

Following the complaint, Oad was arrested on charges of marital rape but was later released on bail of Rs 500,000.

Rabi Oad gained prominence as a Nepalese singer, actor, and dancer after winning the title in the second season of the Nepalese TV series Nepal Idol.
