Sudurpaschim CM Sodari seeking vote of confidence today

KATHMANDU: Dirgha Bahadur Sodari, the Chief Minister of Sudurpaschim Province, is seeking a vote of confidence today.

A Provincial Assembly meeting has been convened at 10:30 this morning specifically for the vote of confidence.

Initially scheduled for May 4 and 5, previous attempts were thwarted by disagreements within the ruling CPN-UML party.

However, with assurances from UML to provide the necessary support, Sodari is moving forward, albeit without UML’s participation in the government.

Sodari assumed office on April 18, backed by a coalition including UML, Maoist Center, Nagarik Unmukti Party, and the Unified Socialist Party.

In the 53-member province assembly, the Nepali Congress holds 18 seats, the Maoist Center and UML have 11 seats each, Nagarik Unmukti holds 7 seats, the Unified Socialist Party has 4 seats, while Rastriya Prajatantra Party and an independent MP hold one seat each.
