KATHMANDU: Prime Minister (PM) Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’ underscored the necessity of consensus among major political players to ensure smooth implementation of the Constitution.

Speaking at an interaction ‘Challenges of Good Governance and Future Actions of the Government,’ jointly organized by the Institute for Strategic and Socio-Economic Research (ISSR) and Khabarhub.com at the Pavilion Hall in Kathmandu on Tuesday, PM Dahal stressed the necessity of consensus among major political players.

“It’s imperative for major political parties to find common ground,” he stated.

He also noted the irony and significance of facing three votes of confidence, asserting, “Continued leadership, even after multiple votes of confidence, is essential for steering the nation towards good governance, social justice, and economic prosperity.”

PM Dahal also emphasized the pivotal role of law enforcement in ensuring good governance.

He highlighted the importance of combating corruption for overall national development and citizens’ well-being.

Prime Minister Dahal further advocated for empowering anti-corruption agencies with necessary resources and legislation to foster an environment conducive to ethical practices.

He emphasized the need for collaboration among governmental bodies, the private sector, civil society, media, and citizens to translate anti-corruption policies into tangible outcomes.

PM Dahal also affirmed the government’s commitment to drafting federal laws aligned with national aspirations.

He stressed the importance of implementing policies that incentivize ethical behavior in development projects while penalizing malpractice.

The Prime Minister also outlined plans for structural reforms in the upcoming year’s policies, programs, and budget.

He emphasized the prioritization of development projects, ensuring adequate resources, timely completion, and adherence to quality standards as key pillars of the government’s agenda.
