Search underway in Trishuli river as divers look for missing passengers in submerged jeep

MUGLIN: A Bolero vehicle with an Indian number plate was discovered submerged in the Trishuli river by a team of divers this morning.

Despite the recovery of the vehicle, authorities have been unable to locate any passengers.

The police initiated a search operation under the suspicion that the vehicle had fallen into the Trishuli river near Muglin in Chitwan.

The effort began after receiving information at the Narayangadh (Muglin road section of Chitwan) police station that a vehicle had plunged into the river near bridge No. 3.

Acting on an alert from a bus driver who reported seeing the vehicle’s lights on in the middle of the Trishuli river, the Nepal Police, armed police diving team, and Nepal Army personnel joined forces in the search operation.

As divers explore the river, the fate of the missing passengers remains uncertain.
