Hilly regions expected to receive rainfall, Terai engulfed in fog

KATHMANDU: The Weather Forecasting Division (WFD) has issued a weather advisory indicating the potential for varied precipitation in different regions of the country.

This forecast is attributed to the partial influence of westerly winds in Nepal and a low-pressure system prevailing in the southern part of Bangladesh.

The hilly areas of the country are experiencing partial changes, while most of the Terai region is currently enveloped in foggy conditions, impacting visibility.

Throughout this afternoon, the weather is expected to be clear in the hilly regions, with partly to mostly cloudy conditions prevailing in other parts of the country.

There is a likelihood of light rain in a few hilly areas and the possibility of light snowfall in high hilly and Himalayan regions.

As night falls, there is a potential for light rain in specific parts of the Koshi, Gandaki, and Karnali provinces.

The hilly areas are anticipated to be partly cloudy, with the chance of light snowfall in select high hilly and Himalayan areas.

The Division has urged people to take necessary precautions as temperatures are expected to drop due to rain, hailstorm, and snowfall in various regions.

Additionally, strong winds are forecasted across most Terai areas, which may impact daily life, health, transportation, and air services.
