Petrol price increases, diesel and kerosene prices reduce



KATHMANDU: The Nepal Oil Corporation has increased the price of petrol while reducing the prices of diesel and kerosene.

According to a decision made by the corporation’s board, the price of petrol has been raised by two rupees per liter, while diesel and kerosene prices have been reduced by two rupees per liter, effective from midnight.

The new prices are NPR 159.50 per liter for first-category petrol, NPR 161 for second-category petrol, and NPR 162 for third-category petrol.

For diesel and kerosene, the new prices are NPR 148.50 per liter for first-category, NPR 150 for second-category, and NPR 151 for third-category.

The corporation has designated first-category distribution points in regions such as Charali, Biratnagar, Janakpur, Amlekhganj, Bhalbari, Nepalganj, Dhangadhi, and Birgunj.

Second-category areas include Surkhet and Dang, while third-category areas include Kathmandu, Pokhara, and Dipayal.

The revised retail prices will apply to depots within 15 kilometers of distribution points.

The price adjustment follows the updated purchase prices from the Indian Oil Corporation, with petrol increasing by NPR 2.28 per liter and diesel decreasing by NPR 1.48 per liter.
