KATHMANDU: The ruling CPN-UML has announced a three-month ward-centric campaign from Magh to Chaitra to strengthen its grassroots organization.

The decision was made during a two-day national workshop titled ‘Problems of Party’s Work at the Local Level and Solutions’on Sunday, organized by the UML Central Organization Department at the party’s central office in Chyasal, Lalitpur, today.

According to the department’s secretary, Madhav Prasad Dhungel, the workshop resolved to build national power by forming committees at the grassroots level, extending to every neighborhood.
It also planned a simultaneous membership expansion and ‘Mass organization with the public’ campaign.

The workshop set a timeline for renewing party memberships by the end of Falgun and Chaitra 2081 B.S.

Additionally, all party members will be brought online by the end of 2081 B.S., utilizing a previously developed mobile application and online platform for membership tracking.

The workshop recommended organizing a “National Youth Festival” by Chaitra 2081 B.S. and emphasized countering conspiracies and misinformation against the party and its leadership.

The event, attended by 300 representatives, including provincial and district leaders, concluded with a special address by party chair and Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli.
