No retaliation or mistreatment against Rabi: Home Minister Lekhak

CHITWAN: Home Minister Ramesh Lekhak has denied allegations of inhumane treatment or retaliation against Rabi Lamichhane, Chair of the RSP, during the ongoing investigation into the cooperative fraud case.

Speaking at a press conference in Bharatpur on Sunday, Lekhak clarified that Rabi has been under investigation since October 19, following his arrest on October 18.

He emphasized that all actions have been conducted lawfully and fairly.

He stated that the investigation is based on the parliamentary probe committee’s report and criticized attempts to question the process, suggesting it undermines the investigation.

Lekhak also highlighted the need for major political parties to unite to ensure sustainable peace, good governance, and development.

He confirmed that the current coalition between the Nepali Congress and UML aims to stabilize the government until 2084 B.S. and mentioned plans for constitutional amendments with consultations across all parties.
