NPL: Sudurpaschim Royals secures playoff spot by defeating Pokhara Avengers

KATHMANDU: Sudurpaschim Royals became the third team to qualify for the playoffs in the Nepal Premier League (NPL) cricket tournament after a narrow 5-run victory against Pokhara Avengers on Sunday.

With this win, Sudurpaschim matched Janakpur’s 10 points from six group-stage matches and secured a spot in the playoffs.

Chasing a target of 154 runs set by Sudurpaschim, Pokhara were bowled out for 148 in 19.4 overs.

Sudurpaschim now tops the points table with 10 points from six matches and is set to face Karnali Yaks in their final league-stage game on Tuesday.

Meanwhile, Pokhara Avengers exited the tournament with six points from seven matches. Janakpur Bolts are in second place with 10 points, while Chitwan Rhinos, Karnali Yaks, and Kathmandu Gurkhas each have eight points.
