Commercial banks adjust interest rates for Poush

KATHMANDU: Nepal’s commercial banks have announced their interest rates for the month of the Nepali month of Poush.

According to the rates announced on Sunday, 14 commercial banks have maintained the same interest rates as in the month of Mangsir.

Three commercial banks have slightly increased their interest rates, while three others have reduced theirs.

NMB Bank, Prime Commercial Bank, and Krishi Bikas Bank have raised their interest rates in Poush, while Nepal Bank, Sanima Bank, and NIC Asia Bank have lowered their rates compared to Mangsir.

Nepal Bank has reduced interest rates by 0.35 percentage points to 5.56% for individual term deposits, NIC Asia has cut its rates by 0.19 percentage points to 6.6%, and Sanima Bank has decreased its rates by 0.1 percentage points to 6.05%.

On the other hand, Agricultural Development Bank has raised its interest rate by 0.033 percentage points to 5.53% for individual term deposits, Prime Commercial Bank has increased its rate by 0.5 percentage points to 6.25%, and NMB Bank has hiked its rate by 1.03 percentage points to 6.6%.

The remaining banks—Laxmi Sunrise Bank, Citizens Bank, Global IME Bank, Nabil Bank, Kumari Bank, Machhapuchhre Bank, Siddhartha Bank, Nepal SBI Bank, Everest Bank, Rastriya Banijya Bank, Prabhu Bank, Standard Chartered Bank, Nepal Investment Bank, and Himalayan Bank—have kept the same interest rates as those in Mangsir.
