KATHMANDU: Westerly winds are currently affecting the country, resulting in partly cloudy skies, according to the Department of Hydrology and Meteorology.
In some areas of the Tarai region, thick fog is being observed. However, the weather is expected to remain generally fair across the country throughout the afternoon and night.
Thick fog is forecast to persist in many parts of the Tarai and the Valley on Monday morning.
The Department has urged relevant authorities to take necessary precautions, as the fog could disrupt daily life, transport services, and flights for a few hours.
Meanwhile, residents of Kathmandu Valley are experiencing relatively warmer weather today compared to Saturday.
On Saturday, the temperature dropped to 2°C, marking the coldest day of the year in the Valley.
This morning, the temperature was recorded at 4.5°C. The maximum temperature in the Kathmandu Valley today is expected to range between 16°C and 18°C, according to the Department.
