KATHMANDU: Local and westerly winds are currently affecting the western and hilly regions of the country.

According to the Department of Hydrology and Meteorology, the weather will be partly cloudy in the hilly areas of the Gandaki and Koshi provinces, while the rest of the country will experience mostly fair conditions.

Some parts of the Tarai region have been experiencing thick fog.

Today, the hilly regions of Koshi, Bagmati, Gandaki, and Karnali provinces will remain partly cloudy, with fair weather expected elsewhere.

Tonight, the hilly belt of Koshi, Bagmati, Gandaki, and Karnali provinces will continue to be partly cloudy, while other areas will remain fair.

Additionally, the hilly regions of Koshi, Bagmati, Gandaki, and Lumbini provinces will experience partly cloudy weather tonight.

Light rain is expected in one or two locations within the hilly areas of Koshi and Gandaki provinces, along with light snowfall in a few high hilly and mountainous regions over the next 24 hours, according to the Department.

The Department has advised caution due to the potential impact on agriculture, health, tourism, mountaineering, and both road and air transport, particularly since thick fog is likely to develop in the Tarai area during the morning and evening hours.
