13-year-old girl drowns in Makwanpur’s Chiruwa river



MAKWANPUR: A 13-year-old girl drowned in the Chiruwa River in Makwanpur last evening.

Rubina Tamang, originally from Lalitpur, had been staying at her maternal uncle’s house in Bagmati Rural Municipality-1, Hattidhunga.

Rubina was swimming in the river, located one kilometer south of her uncle’s house, along with three others when the tragedy occurred.

After her sister, Yalina Tamang, returned home and informed their grandfather, he and the neighbors quickly rushed to the scene and retrieved Rubina from the water.

She was then taken to Sanvi Medical in Jhurjhure for immediate treatment; however, the doctor later confirmed her death.
