Fly Dubai, Jazeera, and Air Asia Set to Operate Flights at Gautam Buddha Airport

More than three international airlines are preparing to operate flights at Gautam Buddha International Airport in Bhairahawa.

This airport has struggled to commence commercial international flights despite the completion of its construction.

According to Pratap Babu Tiwari, General Manager of Gautam Buddha International Airport, Kuwait’s Jazeera, Dubai’s national carrier Fly Dubai, and Thailand-based Air Asia are set to begin operations.

All three airlines have received approval from the Civil Aviation Authority of Nepal, and the airport has established a flight schedule accordingly.

Fly Dubai will initiate regular flights to Gautam Buddha International Airport starting November 9.

Goats and sheep worth over Rs 160 million sold during this Dashain in Jumla

Goats, sheep and buffaloes worth more than Rs 160 million were sold during the Dashain time alone in Jumla this year.

Bir Bahadur Rawal, Chief of the Chandannath Municipality, Livestock Development Section, said goats, sheep and buffaloes worth Rs 163 million and 231 thousand were sold from Khalanga town alone during the Dashain period this year.

The sale of goats, sheep, buffaloes and fowls is generally high during the Dashain festival period as people sacrifice these animals at goddess shrines, and meat consumption also increases due to the festivities.

Construction of Gautam Buddha Int’l Cricket Stadium in Bharatpur progresses uninterrupted

The construction of Gautam Buddha International Cricket Stadium is progressing steadily, with work continuing even during the Dashain festival.

To date, approximately 10 percent of the stadium has been completed.

The Bharatpur Metropolitan City is spearheading the stadium’s construction in collaboration with federal and state governments.

Following the inability of the Dhurmus-Suntali Foundation to continue its work, the Metropolitan Corporation took over the project.

Dashain bazaar sees sharp drop in sales, transactions plummet to Rs 30 million

The annual Dashain bazaar organized in the premises of Gopal Dharmashala of Janakpurdham made the transaction of Rs 30 million.

The transaction declined sharply this year, according to former chair of FNCCI Janakpur chapter, Jitendra Mahasetha.

Last year, the sales recorded nearly Rs 80 million. Senior vice chair of the chapter, Manoj Kumar Saha, also admitted that bazaar could not secure transaction as it was in the past.
