Rabi misused cooperative funds: Mukul Dhakal

KATHMANDU: Former General Secretary of the Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP), Dr. Mukul Dhakal, has accused party Chairman Rabi Lamichhane of misappropriating Rs 2 crore from a cooperative for the Gorkha Media Network.

On Sunday, Dr. Dhakal took to Facebook to publish a detailed opinion, accusing Lamichhane of disseminating misinformation about the legality of ‘sweat shares’.

“Rabi Lamichhane has falsely claimed that there is no law regarding sweat shares in Nepal,” Dr. Dhakal said.

“Many media outlets, believing this falsehood, have reported it as fact. However, there are indeed legal provisions in Nepal concerning sweat shares and similar forms of equity,” he stated.

Additionally, Dr. Dhakal has asserted that he possesses evidence indicating that Lamichhane did not only misappropriate Rs 2 crores, but almost 95 crore rupees from the cooperative.
