Dengue infection hits 9,500 nationwide, claims 6 lives



KATHMANDU: Dengue fever has affected 9,486 people across the country from January to September 13, according to the Epidemiology and Disease Control Division (EDCD).

In this period, the disease has resulted in six fatalities.

Notably, in just the first 13 days of September, there have been 2,633 new cases.

The highest number of infections has been reported in Tanahun, with 1,435 cases.

Other significant numbers include 1,318 cases in Kaski, 880 in Parbat, 871 in Kathmandu, and 628 in Chitwan.

Infections in other districts are below 500. The EDCD reports that dengue has spread to 76 districts, excluding Humla.
