Newly elected parliamentary committee presidents take oath of office

KATHMANDU: Speaker of the House of Representatives (HoR), Devraj Ghimire, administered the oath of office and secrecy today to the newly elected presidents of two parliamentary committees.

Ishwari Devi Neupane, a lawmaker from the Nepali Congress, was sworn in as the President of the Parliamentary Hearing Committee, while Thakur Prasad Gaire, a UML lawmaker, took the oath as the President of the Committee on Monitoring and Evaluation of the Implementation of the Directive Principles, Policies, and Obligations of the State.

The ceremony was attended by several dignitaries, including National Assembly (NA) Chair Narayan Prasad Dahal, Minister for Law and Parliamentary Affairs Ajaya Kumar Chaurasiya, Deputy Speaker Indira Rana, NA Vice Chair Bimala Ghimire, and the chief whips of the Nepali Congress and UML, among others.
