Lumbini Province spends only 66% of budget in fiscal year 2023/24

RUPANDEHI: In the current fiscal year 2023/24, the Lumbini Province government has utilized only 66.14% of its budget.

The government allocated Rs 17.223 billion for the year, but has spent just Rs 10.743 billion so far, according to Provincial Treasury Controller Deepak Gyawali.

Gyawali reported that capital expenditure has exceeded current expenditure this fiscal year.

The Ministry of Drinking Water, and Rural and Urban Development has the highest budget utilization at 77.40%, while the Office of the Chief Minister and Council of Ministers has the lowest at 16.69%.

Notably, the Office of the Chief Minister and Council of Ministers has spent only 9.009% of its capital expenditure budget.

According to statistics from the Office of the Province Treasury Controller, the Provincial Assembly has utilized 66.34% of its allocated budget of Rs 338.838 million.
