Dibu Martínez’s Record: A champion in every tournament he’s played with Argentina

The goalkeeper earned his fourth title with the Albiceleste.

Emiliano Martínez debuted for the national team in 2021, a few matches before CONMEBOL Copa América 2021™ held in Brazil.

There, Argentina ended a 28-year title drought, and the goalkeeper, who came up through Independiente, was named the Best Goalkeeper of the tournament.

The following year, Dibu started in the team managed by Scaloni that played the Finalissima against Italy and became champions by winning 3-0.

Also in 2022, but this time at the World Cup in Qatar, Martínez played in all seven matches for Argentina, being crucial in the penalty shootouts against the Netherlands (Quarterfinals) and France (Final).

Argentina won the title again, and their goalkeeper was once more awarded as the best in his position.

The CONMEBOL Copa América 2024™ mirrored the previous tournaments: Dibu Martínez was named the Best Goalkeeper of the tournament (conceding only one goal, in the 1-1 draw against Ecuador) and Argentina emerged as champions.

The final numbers for the Aston Villa goalkeeper are astonishing: he has played 45 matches, kept a clean sheet in 32 of them. He conceded just 17 goals and made 75 saves. He won 34 matches, drew 9, and lost only 2.
