All seven provinces unveil budgets for upcoming fiscal year today

KATHMANDU: All seven provinces in the country are scheduled to unveil their budgets today, Saturday.

Previously, these provinces had introduced a combined budget of Rs 300 billion for the current fiscal year.

The Ministry of Economic Affairs of each province will present the budgets for the next fiscal year today.

In the earlier budget announcement for the fiscal year 2024/25, Finance Minister Barsaman Pun declared that the government has allocated Rs 60 billion in fiscal equalization grants to the provinces and Rs 88 billion to local governments.

According to constitutional provisions, provincial budgets must be unveiled on June 15 and local level budgets on June 24.
