Patan High Court clears Sandeep Lamichhane; Eligible to join Nepal’s ICC T20 World Cup squad

KATHMANDU: Following the Patan High Court’s decision to grant a clean chit to cricketer Sandeep Lamichhane in a rape case, he is now eligible to join Nepal’s squad for the ICC T20 World Cup.

The ICC T20 World Cup is slated to take place from June 1 to 29 in the USA and West Indies, with Nepal among the 20 participating nations.

Under the captaincy of Rohit Poudel, Nepal has already announced its 15-member squad.

However, countries participating in the tournament are allowed to make changes to their team until May 24, as per ICC regulations.

With this provision in place, Nepal still has nine days to potentially include Lamichhane in their squad for the upcoming tournament.
