Gold smuggling case: Former Vice President Pun’s son Dipesh arrested in Kathmandu

KATHMANDU: Dipesh Pun, the son of former Vice President Nanda Bahadur Pun, has been arrested in connection with a case involving cooperative fraud and gold smuggling.

Sources close to Deputy Prime Minister and Home Minister Rabi Lamichhane reported that police apprehended Pun from Dhobighat on Friday.

Dipesh is alleged to have exploited his father’s position to facilitate gold smuggling from China.
