Commission recommends action against four CIB officials including Chief Bhajracharya

KATHMANDU: The Gold Smuggling Probe Commission has proposed disciplinary action against Chief of the Crime Investigation Bureau (CIB) AIG Kiran Bhajracharya, SP Sanjay Singh Thapa, DSP Rugam Kuwar, and DSP Durga Dahal.

Following its investigation, the commission found these officials culpable of lapses during the gold smuggling probe.

They are accused of failing to conduct a thorough investigation and allegedly aiding individuals involved in the smuggling of 60kg gold from Hong Kong and gold smuggling using vapes from Dubai.

The commission submitted a 485-page investigation report to Home Minister Rabi Lamichhane, who subsequently handed it over to Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal on Friday.
