NC gears up for Mahasamiti meeting; forms nine sub-committees

KATHMANDU: In anticipation of the upcoming Mahasamiti meeting scheduled to take place at Godavari in Lalitpur from February 19 to 22, the Nepali Congress (NC) has taken steps by forming nine sub-committees.

The objective is to ensure the smooth and effective conduct of the general committee meeting, which is being positioned as a ‘policy session,’ the party said.

Led by party President Sher Bahadur Deuba, the main organizing committee has spearheaded the initiative to create specialized sub-committees.

These committees will play a crucial role in orchestrating the four-day event in Godavari with precision and efficiency, according to the party.

The party has entrusted key roles to various leaders, including Min Bahadur Bishwakarma as the Coordinator of the Publicity Sub-committee, Madan Bahadur Amatya for lodging, and Udaya Shumsher Rana overseeing food management.

Jitjung Basnet has been entrusted with the responsibility to lead the volunteer mobilization sub-committee.

Further responsibilities include Urmila Nepal KC as the coordinator for the health coordination sub-committee, Dhana Khatiwada for transport management, Anil Kumar Rungta for the finance sub-committee, Indra Bahadur Baniya coordinating the provincial coordination sub-committee, and Jitendra Shrestha managing the local management sub-committee.

According to Bishwakarma, the sub-committees have commenced their tasks.

To craft the policy proposals for the Mahasamiti meeting, a proposal preparation committee has been formed under the coordination of party Vice President Purna Bahadur Khadka.

During the meeting, NC general secretaries Gagan Thapa and Bishwa Prakash Sharma are scheduled to present the party’s organizational report.

Over 2000 delegates to attend Mahasamiti meeting

A gathering of more than two thousand representatives, spanning both domestic and international spheres, is expected to converge at the upcoming NC’s Mahasamiti meeting.
