Valentine’s Day celebration turns tragic: Girl gang-raped in Siraha, suspect arrested



KATHMANDU: In a harrowing incident, a young girl was subjected to a brutal gang rape on Valentine’s Day in Siraha.

The victim, who had gone to visit her supposed ‘boyfriend’ to celebrate the occasion, faced a horrific ordeal after being invited to his friend’s house in Lahan, where she was reportedly assaulted by a group of individuals.

Nikesh Kumar Yadav, 18, hailing from Sukhipur Municipality-2, has been apprehended in connection with the rape.

Authorities are actively investigating the case and are in pursuit of other suspects involved in the heinous crime.

The victim’s family took swift action, lodging a formal complaint following the girl’s distressing report of being gang-raped by Nikesh and his accomplices.

Upon discovery, the victim was found in a grievous state, covered in blood.

Presently, the victim is undergoing treatment at a facility in Biratnagar, where medical professionals are attending to her injuries.

Her condition is reported to be stable.
