Dharan Mayor Harka Sampang locks Deputy Vice-Chancellor’s Office at BPKIHS

DHARAN: Amid escalating controversies at the B.P. Koirala Institute of Health Sciences (BPKIHS) in Dharan, Mayor Harka Sampang has padlocked the office of the acting Deputy Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Dr. Prahlad Karki on Monday.

Expressing concerns about the growing issues within the institute and the unaddressed demands of teachers and medical staff, Mayor Sampang visited the institute alone on Monday, riding a motorcycle. He locked the Deputy Vice-Chancellor’s office and later proceeded to the municipal office.

Mayor Sampang cautioned against opening the padlock without his permission and asserted that he would unlock it when deemed necessary.

“Let others not open the lock on the Deputy Vice-Chancellor’s office; I will personally come and unlock it when necessary,” he stated.

Sampang emphasized that he would not tolerate high-ranking officials at BPKIHS evading accountability and added that the padlocking action was undertaken to ensure that the concerns of the employees are not overlooked.
