KATHMANDU: The Weather Forecast Division has reported a partial influence of westerly winds currently affecting Nepal.

As of now, the weather is partly cloudy in the hilly areas of Bagmati and Gandaki provinces, while the skies are mostly clear in Koshi, Lumbini, Karnali, and Sudurpaschim provinces.

However, heavy rains have battered most parts of the Terai region.

In the afternoon, the hilly regions of the country are expected to experience clear weather with intermittent to regular showers.

Light rain is anticipated in a few areas of Koshi, Bagmati, and Gandaki provinces.

The Division has also predicted the likelihood of snowfall in select locations within the high hilly and mountainous areas of Koshi, Bagmati, and Gandaki provinces, as well as in certain spots in the high hilly and mountainous regions of Karnali and Sudurpaschim provinces.

Come nightfall, normal rain is projected in certain regions, snowfall in highlands and Himalayan areas, and thunderstorms in the Terai region.

Given the potential increase in cold temperatures compared to the previous day, the Division has urged people to take necessary precautions.

With strong winds expected in most parts of East and West Terai, the Division has warned that daily life, health, transport, and air services may be adversely affected.
