RAUTAHAT: Police have arrested Sunil Kumar Baitha, who was collecting money from local businessmen by falsely claiming to be a representative of the District Police Office in Rautahat.

He was apprehended while in possession of illegal drugs.

Deputy Superintendent of Police Rajan Karki stated that 35-year-old Baitha, a resident of Paroha Municipality-2 Lalbakaiya in Rautahat district, was arrested last night based on information indicating that he was impersonating a member of the District Police Chief’s office.

The district police seized 22 bags of marijuana, 10 nitrovet tablets, one bottle of Coke DX, a mobile phone, and cash totaling 17,900 rupees, as well as a motorcycle, according to Deputy Superintendent of Police Deepak Kumar Rai.

The Rautahat Police Office reported that Baitha, who is involved in criminal activities, is currently being held at the Area Police Office in Garuda, and further investigation is underway.
