Construction of Gautam Buddha Int’l Cricket Stadium in Bharatpur progresses uninterrupted

BHARATPUR: The construction of Gautam Buddha International Cricket Stadium is progressing steadily, with work continuing even during the Dashain festival.

To date, approximately 10 percent of the stadium has been completed.

The Bharatpur Metropolitan City is spearheading the stadium’s construction in collaboration with federal and state governments.

Following the inability of the Dhurmus-Suntali Foundation to continue its work, the Metropolitan Corporation took over the project.

The construction is being carried out by ‘Himalayan Kalinchowk BBR JV,’ which secured the contract through a bidding process.

According to Santosh Acharya, Divisional Engineer of the Metropolis, casting has been completed under the parapet, and work has commenced on the upper layer of the field.

Renu Dahal, Mayor of Bharatpur Metropolitan City, announced that the contract for the stadium’s completion by January 2027 was awarded for NPR 785 million.

This fiscal year, the federal and state governments have allocated NPR 500 million for the stadium’s construction.

The project is being executed in two daily phases.
