UML Chair Oli to be appointed Prime Minister at 5 PM, oath ceremony on Monday



KATHMANDU: Chairman of CPN-UML, KP Sharma Oli, is scheduled to be appointed as the new Prime Minister of Nepal at 5 PM today.

The Office of the President has begun preparations for Oli’s appointment this evening.

President Ram Chandra Paudel will appoint Oli to the position at 5 PM, according to his Secretariat.

The Nepali Congress has supported Oli’s appointment as Prime Minister under Article 76 (2) of the Constitution of Nepal.

Following his appointment today, Oli will take the oath of office and secrecy at 11 AM on Monday, according to a source at the Office of the President.

Along with Oli, the new ministers of his Cabinet will also be sworn in.
