PM urges intensified search for missing in Simaltal bus mishap

KATHMANDU: Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’ has instructed the three state security agencies to escalate the search operation for individuals who went missing following an accident involving two passenger buses that plunged into the Trishuli River at Simaltal, Chitwan.

Today, the Prime Minister summoned the heads of the security bodies to his private residence in Khumaltar to receive updates on the accident.

He urged them to take all necessary measures to locate the missing individuals.

Two passenger buses, one traveling from Kathmandu to Gaur (03-001 Kha. 2495) and another from Birgunj to Kathmandu (03-006 Kha. 1516), were swept away by a landslide into the Trishuli River on Friday morning at Simaltal in Bharatpur metropolis-29.

During the meeting, the PM expressed gratitude to the security personnel involved in rescue and relief operations amid nationwide monsoon-triggered incidents, including the one in Simaltal, where they risked their lives.

“The bureaucracy and security agencies, as permanent institutions, should wholeheartedly dedicate themselves to serving the people, regardless of the political situation,” he emphasized.
