Heavy rainfall expected even today



KATHMANDU: The Department of Hydrology and Meteorology’s Weather Forecast Division has stated that the country is currently under the influence of monsoon wind.

Currently, light to moderate rainfall is occurring in various locations across Koshi, Madhesh, Bagmati, and Gandaki provinces under partly to mostly cloudy skies.

The Division has predicted heavy rainfall in certain areas of Koshi, Bagmati, and Gandaki provinces over the next 24 hours.

This afternoon, the forecast expects partly to mostly cloudy conditions nationwide.

There is a chance of light to moderate rain accompanied by thunder and lightning in parts of Koshi, Madhesh, Bagmati, Gandaki, and Lumbini provinces, as well as in some areas of Karnali and Sudurpaschim provinces.

Tonight, the skies are anticipated to remain partly to mostly cloudy across the country.

The forecast also suggests a likelihood of light to moderate rain with thunder and lightning in certain areas of Koshi, Madhesh, Bagmati, and Gandaki provinces, and scattered regions of Lumbini, Karnali, and Sudurpaschim provinces.

There could be heavy rainfall in one or two places in Koshi, Bagmati, and Gandaki provinces.

Over the next 24 hours, there is a possibility of light to moderate rain with thunder and lightning in parts of Koshi, Madhesh, Bagmati, Gandaki, and Lumbini provinces, as well as in some areas of Karnali and Sudurpaschim provinces.

The Division has advised precautions to mitigate potential damage.
