NC seeks government response to PM Dahal and President Poudel’s foreign visits

KATHMANDU: The Nepali Congress (NC), the main opposition party, has requested information in the parliament regarding the recent foreign visits of Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal and President Ram Chandra Poudel.

Addressing the House of Representatives (HoR) meeting on Friday, Chief Whip Ramesh Lekhak demanded that Prime Minister Dahal inform the parliament about his recent visit to India.

“Even though it is customary to inform beforehand about such visits, PM Dahal has not yet briefed the parliament on his recent trip to India,” said Lekhak.

In addition, Lekhak called for details on President Poudel’s visit to Europe.

“It is unfortunate that we have to learn about our state leaders’ foreign visits from newspapers,” Lekhak remarked.

Furthermore, Lekhak urged the Prime Minister to clarify the recent statements made by Deputy Prime Minister and Home Minister Rabi Lamichhane, which targeted NC leaders in the parliament.
