CIAA files corruption case against Mugu’s Energy Development Office Chief and four others

KATHMANDU: The Commission for the Investigation of Abuse of Authority (CIAA) has filed a corruption case against five individuals, including Rajiv Rimal, the Chief of the Energy Development Office in Mugu, on charges of benefiting illegally and engaging in corruption.

The CIAA has accused Rimal and the others of accepting payment for a project that was not completed during the fiscal year 2078/79.

In addition to Rimal, Engineer Nar Bahadur Lawad, Chairman of the Consumer Committee Tej Bahadur Shahi, Vice-Chairman Hir Bahadur Shahi, and Secretary Teertha Bahadur Shahi have been named as defendants in the case.
