Jeep Accident Update: Death toll reaches eight, victims identified

KATHMANDU: The devastating jeep accident en route to Ghoretar, Bhojpur from Dharan has claimed the lives of eight individuals.

According to police reports, seven passengers succumbed to their injuries at the accident site, while one tragically passed away during medical treatment.

DSP Sudeep Raj Pathak of the District Police Office, Bhojpur, confirmed that all deceased victims have been identified. They are Man Bahadur Basnet, aged 40, the jeep driver from Itahari-9, Parbat Maya Rai, aged 70, Chandra Prasad Rai, aged 23, Bishang Chamling Rai, aged six months, from Hatuwagadi Rural Municipality-2, Raj Kumari Rai, aged 32, from Hatuwagadi-5, Padam Bahadur Thapa, aged 68, from Hatuwagadi-9, Kamala Adhikari, aged 45, and Kishan Rai, aged 42, from Hatuwagadi-5.

Meanwhile, the injured passengers are currently receiving medical treatment at B.P. Koirala Institute of Health Sciences.
