ICC Chairman Greg Barkley visiting Nepal



KATHMANDU: In an effort to fortify the alliance between Nepal and the International Cricket Council (ICC), ICC Chairman Greg Barkley is visiting Nepal from March 18 to 21.

Barkley’s visit aims to foster collaboration and explore new avenues for the advancement of sports in Nepal, according to the Cricket Association of Nepal (CAN).

CAN has emphasized the significance of this visit, viewing it as a crucial step towards enhancing the rapport with the ICC and tapping into potential opportunities for sports development in Nepal.

During his stay, Barkley will visit the Tribhuvan University (TU) International Cricket Ground and Mulpani Cricket Stadium, underscoring his commitment to engaging with the cricketing community in the country.

Official meetings are on the agenda, featuring discussions with key figures such as the Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal Prachanda, Finance Minister Barsaman Pun, and Minister of Youth and Sports Biraj Bhakta Shrestha.

The focus of these meetings will be to deliberate on matters related to cricket support, funding opportunities, and the seamless integration of cricket into the national sports policies, according to CAN.
