Civilian grievance against government has surged: Gagan Thapa

CHITWAN: Nepali Congress (NC) General Secretary and lawmaker, Gagan Thapa, has disclosed a significant rise in public grievances towards the government.

Addressing reporters in Chitwan, Thapa highlighted his direct exposure to citizens’ grievances during the ongoing dialogue tour.

Thapa emphasized that despite the government’s emphasis on crucial issues like governance, service delivery, and constitution-building, the failure to implement these aspects has led to a notable increase in public frustration.

Expressing disappointment, Thapa pointed out that even minor demands from the public remain unfulfilled, showcasing the government’s failure to address seemingly manageable issues.

The NC General Secretary echoed public dissatisfaction by citing examples like the lack of action against defaulting contractors on projects such as the Postal Highway.

He emphasized that despite available resources and opportunities, the government has fallen short in delivering to the public.

Drawing on his experiences as a member of the NC Mahasamiti, Thapa indicated that such concerns, gathered by all Mahasamiti members, would be deliberated during the party’s Mahasamiti meetings in Kathmandu.

In regards to the coalition government culture and seat-sharing dynamics in elections, the NC General Secretary expressed his opinion that forming a coalition after the election would be more effective than establishing one beforehand.
