Deliberations on bills gain pace in Gandaki Province

GANDAKI: The bills that were introduced by the Gandaki province government in the last session of the parliament are under clause-wise deliberations in the thematic committees of the Province Assembly.

The mass communications and social development bill is being discussed in the province affairs and law committee while the bill relating to the seeds is under deliberations in the social development and agriculture committee.

Both the bills were forwarded to thematic committees for clause-wise deliberations after discussion on the principles in province assembly.

President of Social Development and Agriculture Committee, Phadindra Devkota said rigorous debate and discussion was taking place on the bill.

“Discussions are taking place on the bill adhering to the process. Thematic committee’s role and activism have increased in the law-making process”.

The committee has so far held 10 meetings to discuss on the bill relating to seeds. The bill with a report will be sent to the province assembly after completing the ongoing clause-wise discussion, he further said.
